Stay a while, and listen - Deckard Cain

Battlefy July 23rd 2019

We started Battlefy with the goal of creating the easiest way to start, manage, and find esports tournaments. Our product has grown and evolved, and our team has expanded behind the scenes, but one thing we want to get better at is communicating with our community.

Our focus will always be on building the platform that powers esports, but this wouldn’t be possible without you: our players, partners, and organizers. Going forward, expect regular updates from the team around what’s going on behind the scenes, and how it affects your experience on the Battlefy platform. We are committed to delivering the best experience possible, and the community is an important part of making that happen.

WHAT’S NEW?

Monthly Product Updates: You shouldn’t need an Oracle Lens to know what we’re working on. Starting in August, we will be releasing monthly patch notes on the technical side of Battlefy. This will include feature updates, bug fixes, and issues raised by the community that have been fixed. The idea is to not only show what was done in the last month, but also take a look at what the team is working on in the future. Expect the first product update the first week of August.

Community Spotlight: Organizers are the Vespene gas that powers Battlefy. As a show of appreciation, we will be doing weekly community spotlights on social media and our official blog showing off some of the top organizers on the platform. We have already featured Esports Gateway and Latin Gaming Arena in the past couple weeks. Want to be featured? Keep running consistent and top-quality tournaments for players on Battlefy.

Social Support: Going forward, we will be focusing on more community content across our social channels. We know that getting the right promotion for your tournaments is important, so next time you post on Twitter or Instagram: Tag @Battlefy and use the #Battlefy hashtag and your tournament will be considered for social amplification.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Battlefy Discord: Battlefy is live on most major social platforms: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. However, we want to create a space where players and organizers can freely connect, promote tournaments, recruit players, and give us direct feedback on the platform. We have an official Discord channel good to go and will begin bringing community members in — starting with admins, organizers, and key players. More news on this to come.

Community Feedback Sessions: Our goal has always been to build Battlefy for our users, WITH our users. To that end, we will be selecting key players and organizers for group feedback sessions with our product development team. This will allow us to get direct unfiltered feedback on our upcoming features and improvements — making sure we are building a platform that works best for you. This is most likely something we will expand into a larger community feedback program as it progresses, so stay tuned for more news on that in the future.

Community Programs: No surprise mechanics, just good old fashioned community programs. We are going to make contests, giveaways, and larger programs a regular part of the Battlefy experience in the coming months. These will range from simple swag giveaways on social media to larger community wide activations with awesome prizes.

Thanks for taking the time to read our community updates, and we hope you look forward to more of these in the future. In the meantime, be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram for the latest info on tournaments and platform ops.
