The best planned tournaments can be delayed heavily by surprise attendance spikes. To help combat this, we’ve implemented a waitlist system for tournaments that automatically triggers when the maximum size for a stage is reached. When a player joins your tournament after the maximum player number is reached, they’ll be notified they’ve been placed on the waitlist and what number in line they are. When your tournament check-in starts, anyone — registered in time or on the waitlist — can check in. Once check-in is over, you can seed your players based on check-in and it will first pull all the registered players who checked-in before filling up any holes from the waitlist in order.
A participant cap feature has been long requested and with this implementation, organizers will be able to control their tournament attendance and set expectations for their tournaments while still having as many people as possible in their events.
