We’re excited to welcome Munene to the Product Team as a Software Engineer!

At Battlefy, one our core values is Determination to Win. We repeat this daily in our meetings and our 1on1s. That said, when Munene interviewed with us, he exhibited all the attributes we look for in a teammate. There was always clear evidence of exceptional ability: being People First, being determined to win, and continuously improving.

In 2017, he won the Vancouver Startup Weekend Hackathon by supplementing in the creation of a taxi or Ride Sharing app that allows users to get discounts and free services in exchange for watching ads.

Question: What are your favorite hobbies?

• Meditation: Love the serene calmness of nothingness.
• Nature: Nice to get away from this crazy and just be a human again.
• Video games: Always an excuse to enter a different world.
• Socialising: Love to catch up on my friends lives.
• Catching up with latest news: love to always be on the pulse of what’s going on.

**Question: What is your favorite quote which inspires you?

**Question: What’s your favorite esports game?
**Call of Duty, Super Smash Bros. or any game in the Fifa series.

Question: What’s your favourite memory in gaming?
Beating my brother in any game. My biggest sparring partner and strongest competitor! Always knew how to exploit my weaknesses.

Question: Who inspires you?
My family. They’ve been there for me since the beginning and they continue to inspire me today.

Question: What do you think is a defining factor in teams being successful?
Sacrifice: If someone Is willing to sacrifice for you then your more than willing to sacrifice for them.

Question: what are you obsessed about ?
Building things: Was obsessed with LEGO as a kid and it lives with me today in my coding.

Question: What is your favourite book and why?
Kane & Abel — Jeffrey Archer
Fantastic rendition of history through 2 different people living in different parts of the world during the Cold War and becoming rivals later in life.
