We’re very excited to welcome Valentine to the Battlefy Engineering team!

At Battlefy, our people come from all walks of life. Valentine is a talented and determined engineer who comes from Russia. He loves playing League of Legends and also plays Tryndamere (great champ for split pushing and acquiring objectives). Back in the day, he used to play World of Warcraft arenas.

We love keeping the engineering culture as transparent as possible so we’ve taken time to ask Valentine a few questions!

Question: What are your favorite hobbies?

Creating stuff. Does not matter how, where and what. Just take a little bit of nothingness and let the magic happen.
Love cooking: making a fancy meal from leftover sour cream and chicken breast which hid somewhere in the freezer for the past two months is the skill that saved me many times. A good meal is nothing without a matching drink though. Luckily, brewing falls under the ‘creating stuff’ category, so if you are interested in any kinds of alcohol production — feel free to ask.

Question: What is your favorite quote which inspires you?

Question: What’s your favorite esports game?

Right now — League of Legends. If time travel was legal — World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King 3v3's

Question: What’s your favourite memory in gaming?

Oh, that’s a good one. So it was TBC and we were trying to do realm first Tempest Keep. We were raiding so much, I had nightmares with boss quotes lol. However, the favorite part was the sudden realization that my tank understands me without words. This is the most valuable thing in MMO — mental link between teammates.

Question: Who inspires you?

I actually do not follow anyone for inspiration. But I am a big fan of Neil deGrasse Tyson.

Valentine’s level of determination and whatever it takes attitude has led him to come to Canada for great opportunities. As our Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau would say, “there is strength in diversity.” We’re incredibly happy to have Valentine join our growing engineering team — he is an absolute technical beast, brings amazing, positive energy wherever he goes, and always takes initiative to push the organization forward.
