Bronze/Silver when I started playing in Battlefy tournaments. As I continued to play more, I climbed to Platinum.
At Battlefy, we all use the platform the way organizers and players use it today. In one case, we run weekly tournaments internally with popular games like Hearthstone, Clash Royale, Pokémon, and Rocket League, but also less popular (and fun!) games like Typeracer, Tetris, and Towerfall Ascension.
In this post, I’m going to tell you about how I have personally improved at League of Legends (from Bronze 1/Silver 5 elo to mid-Platinum elo) by playing in tournaments on Battlefy and being a part of a community of players that have helped me identify my own mistakes in gameplay.
Firstly, I embraced the grind. Michael Jordan, Ronda Rousey, Wayne Gretsky, Serena Williams, Tiger Woods — all athletes that worked on improving their skills everyday. It’s about mindset and discipline.
Secondly, I used Battlefy’s Discovery for finding my first few tournaments. I started with daily 1on1s. Since I was going to be playing daily, I added my opponents as friends on League. Over time, I soon found myself going into the Organizer’s community Discord where I found out about them possibly running 5v5s. This was fantastic to hear because I’ve always wanted to be a part of a competitive community where I could learn from people who have better game knowledge and help me identify my own mistakes.
Thirdly, I looked at my replays and uploaded them to YouTube. I ended up sharing them with everyone so I can get feedback on my play — I was incredibly hungry to improve at League of Legends.
Three months later, I found myself applying all the advice and tips that players from this community were giving me and I slowly but surely climbed out of Bronze elo hell and then I found myself in Platinum.
The main point I want to highlight is that without Battlefy, I wouldn’t have been able to find a competitive community to play with. With an amazing group of competitive players in that community, I was able to take in all that feedback and improve my gameplay over time. Battlefy is a place where competitive communities come together to find and manage esports tournaments — Battlefy has helped me become a better League of Legends player — I’m confident it’ll help you as well!
